Why your buyer is asking

The importer's first annual declaration for 2026 imports is due by 30 September 2027. If your data isn't verified in time, it must use default values, which usually cost it more.

  1. Whether your figures are provisional or verified
  2. The accredited verifier you've engaged, or your plan to engage one
  3. The expected site visit month and report date
  4. Whether you'll share data through the CBAM Registry

Be careful about

  • Promising a date before you've booked a verifier
  • Naming a verifier that isn't accredited for your sector
  • Overstating readiness. Buyers plan their costs around your answer
